The weather is heating up and so are the Circus performers on runways all across the NorthEast sector…
New York Relays…Icahn Stadium was buzzing both days ..as Warwick Valley,NY seniors Derek DiBona and Erin Leahey won the super Pole Vault Plaques this year with solid fly-overs. Derek, using his 15′ 7′ x 195 UCS Cannon…flew BIG over 15′ 6″ for gold. Enclosed is his BIG jump Over… Ryan Herrera Murphy looked great over 15’0″ for Coach Jerry Cahill’s Iona Prep crew and James Ball(Fordham Prep,NY) is improving fast over 14′ 0″ with some air… Senior Matt Greenlaw(Warwick,NY) leaped 13′ 0″ ands Soph Isaac Heatley punched over 11′ 0″ for Top Soph honors for Coach Potter’s Purple Wave. Jeff Sanawong(Nanuet) flew over 12′ 6″ and Ormando Watson(BB) made 12′ 6″ Senior Erin Leahey..the champion sprinter/pole vaulter for Coach Rich Furst’s Lady Wave…won her gold at 10′ 6″…also by a BIG margin on Saturday morning…matching her older sister Kayla… winning this event in 2011.
Red Raider Relays…North Rockland,NY…. Great vaulting both days at North Rockland High School…with Matt Leanza(Suffern,NY) sizzling over 13′ 3″ PR for gold from the Mounties…team mate Jack Diamond hit 11′ 6″ to place. Peter O’Neil(CS) leaped 10′ 0″ for the Vikings. Vinny DePaolo(Monroe,NY) set his personal best in winning his 3rd Frosh-Soph event of the spring ..with his 12′ 3″ PR on his 13′ 7″ x 150 UCS Spirit!!! Connor Burke(Pearl River) made 8’6″ for the Pirates. In Girls competition..Catherine Walker(Monroe) vaulted 11′ 0″ for the gold and team mate Samantha Beyar(Monroe) started her comeback with silver at 10’6″. In Frosh /Soph action..it was Kristin Lubeskie(Monroe) with the win at 10’0″ meet record for the talented freshman from Coach Chris Goodwin’s Vault team. Seraya Friedman(Monroe) 8′ 3″ Kerry Qualter(CS) 8’0″ Kali Greenberg(Suffern) 7′ 6′ !!!
New Jersey Up dates… University of New Hampshire signee…Sabrina Anderson(Hunterdon Central.NJ) made 11′ 6″ on Saturday and had 1 close jump at 12’0″ before she blew out her 150 UCS Spirit!!!
Section 2,NY- Lady Eagles Invite… Bethlehem Central hosted their invitational at Colonie Central’s track while there track is under construction… and Junior Tedi DeMaria was the Jump star…with her winning Pole Vault of 11′ 1″ and near make at 11′ 9″.. the first year Track athlete..then placed 2nd in Triple Jump at 34′ 10″ and placed in High Jump at 4’10” for Coach Ashley Gansel Orange and Black Track Cats!!!
Mt SAC, California….. Megan Clark is having an unbelievable year on the vault runways all over the USA!!! Competing for Coach Shawn Wilbourn and the Duke Blue Devils at Mt. Sac.. Megan flew 14′ 6″ and placed 2nd overall on her Big UCS poles. Megan last weekend flew 14′ 9″ at the Duke Invite and near missed a New Collegiate Record of 15′ 1.5″ !!!! Congrats MEGAN !!!!

* Another Super Instruction Day today at Circus Outdoor and Indoor Pits. The enthusiasm of our Open Vaulters is inspiring… Many improvements are happening every Sunday… and the NEW KIDS on GLASS are coming!!!!
* We start up our Wednesday Night’s At-The-Circus program this week with Boys and Girls invited every Wednesday… Class #1 5:30-7pm Class #2 7-8:30pm Join the Flyin’ Fun with us!!
* Summer VAULT – HOOPLA POLE VAULT MEET and BBQ… Saturday July 18 ALL DAY… EVERYONE INVITED ALL Divisions… All FUN!
