    The Hudson Valley Flying Circus Pole Vault Project

    CONGRATULATIONS to all vaulters for a super weekend of vaulting in four states. The Circus Bus Tour was impressive…as college and high school athletes stepped up to the Championship Indoor Series with their biggest poles and longest run ups. Nationals now just 14 days-a-way !!!!

    Big jumps came from our college vaulters in far away places… as Virginia University freshman..Tedi DiMaria set a personal best of 13′ 0″ at the ACC Championships at Notre Dame for Coach Mario Wilson. She had a close bar at 13′ 3.5″ on her biggest poles of the season. Dartmouth freshman..Julia Valenti placed 3rd at the HEPS at the Armory with her 12′ 7.5″ leap… and James Steck of Virginia Tech placed 4th at 17” 1″ for Coach Bob Phillips strong vault crew. At American East Champs… Binghamton Junior..Peter Fagan placed 2nd at 16′ 6.75″…Travis Fountain(Bing) 16′ 2.75″PR in 3rd place and Stefan Buechele(Albany) hit 16′ 1.5″ to win the Heptathlon Title for the Purple and Gold. Stefan also placed 5th in the open vault at 15′ 9″ the next day!!!! New Hampshire junior Kari Murnane hit the 12 foot club status with her 3rd place 12′ 0″ at conference meet..Grace Weisbecker(Vermont) placed 2nd at 12′ 5″ Samantha Beyer(Binghamton) 12′ 0″ Sabrina Anderson(NH) 11′ 0″ and Sophia Alter(V) 10′ 6″

    Coach Cauthers travelled to Penn State University on Saturday to help at the PA STATE MEET…as Madisyn Hawkins(Coughlin) jumped to a 3rd place medal at 12′ 0’… and Pittston Area…Junior Abby Norwillio placed 8th at 11′ 6″. Hatboro,PA senior Nick Marino had a dream meet with his first 16′ 0″ vault ever to win the crown for Coach Brian Monschein . Payton Morris leaped 15′ 6.75 for Coach Matt Concannon!!

    The New Jersey Meet of Champions was loaded with real life drama in both the boys and Girls sections… Seth Krischeff of Northern Valley Old Tappan was sensational for Coach Jeff Clark and Coach Alex Eckmeyer ..with his 14′ 6″ win for his first state title. Brian Rubenstein (Gov.Livingston) was also ready to fly..with his Runner Up 14′ 0 vault silver medal. Hunterdon central junior Dave Bausmith placed 3rd at 14′ 0″..Ryan Vimba placed 7th at 13′ ^’ Greg Fuerte(Paramus) 13′ 6″ Trevor Hazell(Vernon) 13′ 6″ Kevin Nam(Pope John) 13′ 0″ School Record) Jared Forer(Glen Rock) 12′ 6″ rounded out the boys on Saturday.. The Girls Meet on Sunday was close and exciting… with every girl reaching deep within at Toms River Bubble. Fair Lawn senior Jessica Ippolito placed 2nd with her 12′ 0″ second attempt and forced a jump off for the gold. After breaking a pole at 12′ 3″..she came right back with a make. She heads to University of Rhode Island next fall. Michelle Rubinetti of Northern Valley Demarest was also ready to roll..with a 12′ 0″ clear and nearly stole the show at 12′ 6″ second bar brush off… Placing forth was Leah Saifi(Gov.Livingston) at 11′ 6″ Nicole Lester(Ridgewood) 11′ 0″ Lauren Saifi(GL) 10′ 6″ Max Earl(Ridgewood) 10′ 6″ Sydney Woods(NVD) 10′ 6″ Caroline McGann(Holy Angels) 10′ 6″ Grace Gardella(Ramsey) 10′ 0″.

    Section 1 State Quals at the Armory..George Zakharov(Croton Hudson) placed 1st at 13′ 0″ and Conor Burke(Pearl River) 12’9″ PR advance to states this coming weekend at Ocean Breeze!!!

    Section 9 State Quals at West Point on Friday night was filled with loud clapping and cheering..as Kristin Lubeskie of Monroe Woodbury defended her girls title at 11′ 0″ for the Crusaders…Sophomore Kaeli Thompson of Warwick Valley vaulted 10′ 6″ for Coach Mike Potter and Colleen Leahey jumped 10′ 0″ to return trip to State finals. Gabby Nebiker(MW) looked great over 10′ 0″ Lydsey Julian of Washingtonville set her personal best at 8′ 6′ for Coach Duffy GenevieveRreilly (Warwick Valley) 8′ 6″ Julia Penna(MW) 8′ 6″PR Noa Raskin(NP) 8′ 0″ Daniella Raymond (Wash) 8′ 0″. The Boys Comp was close also..as Dagi Tadesse of New Paltz won at 14′ 6′ and close at 15′ 3″ Vinnie Depaolo(Monroe Woodbury) 13′ 0″…Isaac Heatley(Warwick Valley) 13′ 0″ Dylan Scribani(NP) 13′ 0″ Dane Sorensen(Warwick Valley) 13′ 0″ Josh Jeong(MW) 12′ 6″ Josiah Spain(ON) 12′ 0″ Isaiah Ramirez(PB) 12′ 0″ Mike Gagliardi(Wall) 11′ 0″ Austin O’Malley(G) 11′ 0″ Justin Smith(PB) 11′ 0″ .

    ” The Warwick Valley vs Monroe Woodbury Vault Shootout” meet on Thursday at the Barn took place on the outdoor pits..as Chris Endrizzi(MW) flew 12’0″ for the Crusdaer win… Logan Matthews(MW) soared 11′ 0″ for silver and Jacob Becker(Warwick Valley) placed 3rd at 10′ 0″…. Dan Jeong(MW) 9′ 0″ Aidan O’Connor(Warwick Valley) 9′ 0″ Anthony Cortez(MW) 9′ 0″ Dan Depaolo(MW) 9′ 0″ Owen Kelly(MW) 9′ 0″ Nick Villanuena(MW) 8′ 0″ Aidan Wallace(MW) 8′ 0″ Eric Wallace(MW) 6′ 0″.     THANK YOU ALL for supporting our Open Tuesday and Thursday Pole Vault Sessions at the Flying Circus. We will be CLOSED…TUESDAY February 28th for participation in the Boys & Girls EASTERN STATES CHAMPIONSHIPS at the NB Armory. We will resume on Thursday March 2 at 5:30PM Classes
