Dear Flying Circus. “Family of Flyers”……….
The. 26th Festival was all about FRIENDSHIPS and FUN.
When pole vaulters get together….its always about fellowship. This year’s edition was filled with joy…spirit. and togetherness. Thank you to all 112 athletes for. coming together and. every parent,, grandparent…coach. and siblings. for. making our. meet a huge blessing. Bring on summer !!!!

Girls High School~~~Junior Class Division (Top 3)
The Girls ESSX BAG winner was. Jordan Carr of Joel Barlow High School (Redding Connecticut). This years Connectict State Champion. flew. 12′ 1″ with ease and was close. at 12′ 9″ PR attempts. She represents. Black Rock Pole Vault Club and coached bt Robert Rakish. Placing. silver was Warwick Valley,NY ..junior…Rachel Venter with her comeback 11′ 7″ bar and close. at 12′ 1″ on longer poles. Taking the bronze JOE TEA award. was. New York City’s finest..Madeline Magliaro(Trinty School). at 11′ 1″.
Boys High School ~~~Junior Class Division (Top 3)
The Boys ESSX BAG winner was local standout…Logan Schupner of Minisink Valley High School. Logan set a new School Record. and Personal Best with his 15′ 7″ leap and. a close bar at 16′ 1″ for the lefthanded. vaulter. Taking home. the. silver JOE TEA was. Owen Keating of Pompton Lakes,NJ. Wearing his dad’s old USA EAST FESTIVAL jersey.. he flew 15′ 1″ and close to 16′ 1″ on the outdoor pit. The Bronze was. a tie. with Luca Cioffi(Long Island,NY) and Korvan Nameni(Wisconsin) both sailing 13′ 7″ with air to spare.

The ESSX Bag award. the winner was the hometown star..Lily Beattie of Warwick Valley,NY. Lily blasted over 13′ 1″ to set a new meet record. and record. the 16th 4.0 meter vault of her High School career. She was. very close at 13′ 7″ and heads to the University of Mississippi. this fall. Also soaring BIG was. Ella Galloway of Pine Bush High School,NY. wit. a New School Record of 13′ 1″ and. close. at 13′ 7″ bar also. Ella. heads. to the University of South Florida. this fall to be. with legendary pole vault coach Don Marsh. Placing third. was Maia Perillo of John Jay High School..perhaps. this years Most Improved Athlete with her. 12′ 1″ = School Record vault for the UMASS-Amherst signee.
Boys High School~~~Senior Division (Top 3)
The ESSX Bag. winner. was an All-American Decathlete…Neil Howard III of Taconic Hills,NY. This 5-time Decathlon Champion and GaterAide NY Athlete of the Year. flew huge over 16′ 7″ from his. shorter run. and close. at 17′ 3″ for the Michigan signee. Thking. second. was this year’s Connecticut State Champion..Liam Wright of All H.S. CT. Liam. set a nEw school Record of 15′ 7′. and heads to Columbia University this fall. Taking the Bronze JOE TEA. was. Ryan Hoo of Pope John,NJ. with his 12′ 7″ and heads to Utah University this fall.
Womens Open Division ~~~~ Top 3
The ESSX Bag winner. was. Rachel Mason(Unattached) of High Point, New Jersey. Using only her 6-step approach…Rachel blasted. 12′ 1″ and close bar at 12′ 7′ PR. Rachel was runner-up this year in Big East Championships. Placing Silver was. a tie between. Marisa DeAngeloof Long Island. and Emma Keating of Pompton Lakes. Marisa, Former NY State Champion has started her comeback. and Emma. was NJ State Champ last spring at 13’0′. Both were close at 12′ 7″ bar. Coco Metcalf of West Milford,NJ was 4th at 11′ 7 and the St John University junior. was close. at 12′ 1″ PR for Coach Bob Sorensen.
Mens Open Division~~~ Top 3
The ESSX Bag Champion was Peter Roach of Appex Vaulting Club of New Jersey. This former Cornell Pole Champion. sailed. 17′ 1″ and the place went crazy.!!! Coached By Bronko Meric. He too 3 great shots at 17′ 7″ to end the day. Placing Silver JOE TEA. was former Texas Champion… Warren Miller… After his. 28-hour car drive(Longest in Festival History). this humble grad flew 16′ 7′ and brushed off 17’1″. Warren. was encouraging vaulters both days and taking photos of excellence for all to take home. Taking third was Nate Llanos of Connecticut at 15′ 7″. and Dane Sorensen of Flying Circus. 15′ 7″. for his. chilled JOE TEA award.
Masters Men Division
The ESSX Bag
winner was. Robert Rakich of Connecticut. .. with his Black Roch Pole Vault Club athletes cheering him on all day… he. flew. a seasonal best of 10′ 1″ to take home. the GOLD!!!!
