CONGRATULATIONS to all Circus Vaulters in this first week of friendly and spirited competitions around the Metro area. Many great performances were recorded and the season has launched successfully. Always remember…that there are many hidden joys of competition… many things that the spectators on the edge of the track…or sitting in the balcony seats never realize…. . The sheer joy and pleasure of being an athlete…striving for your personal goal… being with friends that share the same dreams…. helping others in the heat of the battle and showing complete humility in all situations…. This is the spirit and soul of the sport that we all seek…. Keep striving for the human connection. HAPPY HOLIDAYS !!!!!!!

West Point OCL Meet @ Gillis……There is a NEW SECTION 9 and Warwick Valley HS ALL TIME POLE VAULT RECORD… as The Purple Wave senior..Todd UCKERMARK lifted over 16’ 2” on his UCS Spirit 15 x 180 to delight his Coach Mike Potter and team mates on Saturday afternoon. This performance came with a 14’ 6” grip…producing a 30” effective push off the top of the pole!!!! Full PV Results are coming from the complete competition.

Armory Track…Bishop Loughlin Games…. Girls action started the 60th edition of Loughlin Games at the historic New Balance Armory…. and Senior Jenna CALANDRO(Newtown,CT) led the Circus sweep of the Top 3 places with her NEW INDOOR SCHOOL RECORD of 12’ 0” on her 13’1 x 140 UCS Spirit Glass…and had 2 good attempts at 12’ 6’ meet record. Jenna is committed to Bucknell University next fall. Placing in a tie for second place were the Albany vault duo Kara SNYDER(Colonie,NY) and Kalli MANLY(Burnt Hills,NY) as both near missed at 11’ 6” on the super fast Mondo X new runway. Samantha Beyar placed 5th at 9’ 6”..Dana Rokicsak(CS) leaped 8’ 6” for Coach Pete Monderferri.

… The Boys Vault was stacked with NYC up and coming Vault Crew… Senior Joe CRISPI reached down deep on his final jump at 15’ 0” to win the event over Ryan Murphy(Iona Prep) 14’ 6”..Luke Annichiarico(Old Tappan) 14’ 6” Chris Rough(Westhill,CT) 14’ 6”(School Record)… Charlie Wilson (New Rochelle) 12’ 6(School Record)… Reggie St.Louis(New Rochelle) 12’ 0” Marc Campo(Old Tappan) 11’ 6”…. The best part of the day was the teaching…helping and coaching of his team mates at Farrell by winner Joe CRISPI. Many saw the energy and passion displayed by his giving… Joe CRISPI was awarded the Meets MOST VALUABLE FIELD ATHLETE !!! He near missed at 15’ 6” meet record…and only jumped from 5 LEFTS!!!!!

New Haven Invite @ Hillhouse…. Friday Night at Floyd Little Arena was jammed with athletes… as Darien,CT. junior All – Around athlete…Maddie Schneider(Darien,CT) won the Vault Gold Medal at 11’ 0” and had 1 jump at 12’ 0” before moving to her 4×200 Relay win and her 5th place 55m Hurdles performance. Jan Wall(Weston,CT) zoomed over 10’0” for Coach Meadve…Rachel Moroknek(Ridgefiels,CT) placed 3rd at 9’ 6” and Jessica Thornberry(Darien,CT) placed 4th at 9’ 6”…Hannah Campos(Weston,CT) open at 8’ 0” At the Staples Invite the next day…Jessica Thornberry flew 9’ 8’ for the PR and win!!

More…. John S,Burke,NY Freshman… Colleen Leahey set a new school record i on Friday at Gillis at 8’ 0”…Connor Morris(CBA),NJ) flew 11’ 6’ at Demarest Invite at Toms River,NJ… Hatsboro-Horsmen.PA Freshman sensation Nick Marino flew high over 10’ 6” this weekend and the beat goes on!!!
