    Professional Pole Vault Artist…Megan “Flips” Clark returned to one of her famous sites this weekend for some good old pole vault leaps. It was back in 2013 at this Drake Relays site that she and her Duke Coach Shawn Wilbourn made their first USA National Jr. Team… now just four years later.. Megan..representing Oiselle/NYAC club flew 15′ 0″ in the Elite Rio Reunion of Pole Vault Pro’s!!! Megan is now at the US Olympic Training Center and coached by World Renowned Kris Mack !!! She was ever so close at 15′ 3.5″ !!! Keep soaring Megan!!!!

    Back east at the 123rd PENN RELAY CARNIVAL @ Franklin Field…there was more history made in all 6 Sections of the FLYING POLE VAULT. Thursday Championship of America High School event..saw Madisyn Hawkins(Wilkes-Barr,PA) soar to a last attempt win at 12′ 7.5″ for her outdoor school record and the gold watch…. Best friend Abby Norwillo(Pittston Area,PA) place 3rd at 12′ 3.5″ for this junior…Alana Carroll of Averill Park,NY punched over at 12′ 3.5″ for 4th place and senior Michelle Rubenitti(Northern Valley-Demarest,NJ) leaped 12’0″ for the Lady Nordsman. Emily Harrison of battlefield,VA came thru for 6th at 12′ 0″ and Jess Ippolito of Fair Lawn,NJ looked good over 11′ 0″. In the Earlier college section… Sarah Haley of Binghamton University flipped over 12′ 0″…Kari Murnane(New Hampshire) 11′ 6″ and Samantha Beyer(Binghamton) looked great for Coach Thompson.
    Saturday morning Boys Championship High School..it was all Nick Marino of Hatboro-Horsham,PA sailing to gold at 15′ 9″ for Coach Brian Monschein of Philly Jumps. Nick took shots at Jordan Yamoah’s meet record at 16′ 7″ and remains undefeated this spring. Also coming up BIG was Vestal,NY junior Johannes Stronhaug with a 15′ 5′ pr and School Recrd for the Golden Bears of Coach James Cerra. Milan Spisek of Joel barlow,CT was ready with his 4th place 14′ 9″ leap for Coach Jeff Dumas. Colin Duignan of Fordham Prep ..just a junior made 14′ 6″ for Coach Brian Carney and Seth Kricheff of Old Tappan made 13′ 6″ for Coach Jeff Clark.

    The University Championship of America was spectacular on Saturday Afternoon… as PENN freshman Sean Clark thrilled the home crowd with his 17′ 1″ explosion for Coach Joe Klim. This left handed Floridian is for real> Coach Jon Hill’s standout Lee Bares(Junior0 was super over 17′ 1″ for 4th place overall ..Ryan Wilkes(URI) placed 5th at 16′ 6.75″ as did Circus favorite Peter Fagan(Binghamton) at 16′ 6.75″!!!


    HIGH SCHOOL NEWS… AMANDA McNELIS(Commack,NY) Sizzles over 12′ 6″!!! Bouncing back high from PENN…was Villanova bound Amanda McNelis of Commack,NY with a PR and School Record win at 12′ 6′ at the Bob Pratt Invite. Using her 13′ x 150 UCS Spirit for Coach Jim Henderson.Also soaring was Kylie Strzelczyk of Smithtown East,NY at 10′ 3″ recovering from and early season injury.
    Westhill,CT senior Marc DeLuca has added another championship to his trophy room..with his 14′ 0″ win on Saturday. At Kingston Relays.. Wimnning the Fr/Soph Pole Vau;lt was Keira Coulard-Smith(New Paltz) at 8′ 6′..Syd Tomaine(FDR) 8′ 0″ and Cornwall ,NY with grader Ava DeFelice placed 3rd at 7′ 0″ . Dagi Tadesse(New Paltz) won Boys Varsity at 14′ 7′ Meet Record ..Dylan Scranbani(NP) 13′ )” Max Wiers(NP) 10′ 6″.. Noa Raskin(NP) placed 2nd in Girls Varsity
    Gold Rush Invite,NY…Brian Nagotko(Mahwah,NJ) won gold at 12′ 6″ Andrew Freedman(Mahwah) 12′ 0″ Jordan Schwartz(Hackley( 11′ 0″ Connor Doyle(Bergeb Teck,NJ) 10′ 6″ . In Girls It was the talented Kristin Lubeskie of Monroe-Woodbury,NY taking gold at 11′ 0″ Marisa Entrup(Mahwah,NJ_ 10′ 0″ Victoria Hill(Mahwah,NJ) 9′ 6′ Alex Ryan(Nanuet,NY) 8′ 0″ Kerry Qualter(CS) 8′ 0″. Andy Washnik Meet at Mahwah High School this Sunday May 7 at 10AM!!

    TEDI DeMARIA…last year’s Indoor All-American from Bethlehem High School.. is taking it higher for CoachMario Wilson at the University of Virginia… Placing 5th at the powerful Virginia Grand Prix meet at 12′ 10.75″ on Saturday!!!

    The eight Flying Circus Pole Vault Girls took the Penn Relay’s by storm on Thursday under clear skies at the World’s Greatest Track and Field Meet. Congratulations to all for a wonderful day together. It is always a thrill for coaches,parents and spectators to watch you all interact and compete. This experience, in front of 20, 000 Track Nuts, will last a lifetime… More big days just ahead!!!

    James Coughlin,PA senior captain…Madisyn Hawkins used her 7 step approach perfectly to win the High School Championship of America event with a clutch last attempt sail at 12; 7.5″ for the gold watch. This super fast gymnast takes her talents to Lehigh University next fall. The Circus Gilrls were helping and encouraging each other all day..as Flying Circus placed 4 Girls in the TOP 5 for our best team showing ever @ Penn! Piston Area,PA junior Abby Norwillo used her us spirit 155 to the max with her 12′ 3.5″ third place medal. In forth was Averill Park,NY junior …Alana Carroll, using her new 13′ 7″ pole for Coach Cauthers and sailing 12′ 3.5″ seasonal best outdoor school record. Taking home the 5th place medal before her prom night ..was Northern Valley-Demarest,NJ senior Michellle “Rubee” Rubinetti..with a blast over 12′ for Coach Mike Ives. Michelle enters UPENN next fall !!! Fair Lawn,Nj senior Jessica Ippolito leaped 11′ for the Cutters on her 160 UCS and heads to University of Rhode Island next fall. Great vaulting also came from Lia Zavattaro(Greenwich,CT) senior Amanda McNelis(Commack,NY) and Leah Saifi( senior ) Governor Livingston,NJ)
