 It was  a Rising Stars Mini Meet… …. But it  was loaded  with BIG  performances.    Six  talented  young pole vaulters gathered  before  the  Spring Break to test their training.     Five  PR’s  and   three  School Records were  a treat  for pole vault eyes at the Indoor Flying Circus  Barn and  the  cheering  and  close friendships were  everwhere.  CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL!!!!!  Stay fit  during  Spring Break !!!!

RECAP~~~~~CIRCUS RISING STARS MINI MEETMARCH 25, 2021

WARM TEMPS ON THE  SECOND FLOOR …provided a great setting  for  the  6 Young stars on fiberglass.   Warwick Valley,NY…8th Grade  Sprinter/Vaulter…RACHEL VENTER  flew  10′ 7.5″   and  then had  magic   attempts   at her own NY State 8th Grade record  at 11′ 2″. She used  her long run ,  with her biggest poles  ever to soar again in taking   her “JOE TEA”   for a ride home. She heads  to California  for vacation and for the Vaulter Magazine Meet on April 3.  Pushing  her  new PR   and New School Record  was  8th grader,,,Averie Klein of Pine Bush Middle Schol with her 10′ 1.5″ sail for Coach Bob Sorensen Training Group.   Taking the  Goshen Freshman Pole Vault Record …was  9th grader..Reilly St.Lawrence(Goshen,NY)  with her double PR  night  and  9′ 1.5″ clear  with big poles/grips!! Placing  forth was Kate Dowling ..setting a new Middle School record  for Pearl River,NY  at 8′ 1.5″ for  the 8th grader.  Placing 5th in the Girls Meet  was Violet Bonhiak of Goshen,NY  with her 8′ 1.5″  PR for the Gladitors!!!!   Warwick Valley Middle School ,NY  Anthony Roe   won the Boys  Division    with his  7′ 7.5″  sail  for  his JOE TEA!!!!!

“Endless Days  of Fun  and Games”

…. The  new   pole vault  stars came out to play  today ..at the  RISING STARS MEET on a sunny Sunday in March.  Congratulations  Vaulters…. 25 Personel Bests  is   hard  to imagine ..but it’s  true…….. You  all came  to Fly !!!!!!  Here  we go….  Greg Mirecki Video Productions  zoomed  it out.. via  stream … to 152 proud  family members…team mates   and   college coaches and  the  ” spirit of the vault” took over  the hay loft .  Team mates   cheering..stomping   and  clapping with all their mite…fueled  the  Vault Engine.  It was a sensational day together……..  More  to come  in April !!!!!
 
RECAP…… Pictured  here is Notre Dame High School,NY..senior..AILEEN HOBAN taking the Girls  meet at 10′ 5.5″ !!!  Setting   her HS  Record and  a  new Staten Island Record on her bigger poles  for Coach Gezim Capani.  This  senior never gave up thru Covid  and now  heads  to join the Wagner University Track program next fall on scholarship. Taking Gold in Boys Meet ..was  Somers,NY  ..junior Alexander Pedersen  with a  big blow over at 9′ 8.5″ and  super jumps  at 11′ 0″ !! 

Top Middle School Boys  were Luke Beattie(Warwick,NY)  and Anthony Roe(Warwick,NY)..both clearing  9′ 2.5″!!!!  Top Freshman Boys  was Matt Sands(Demarest,NJ)  at 9′ 2.5″…Top Freshman Girl  was Livy Molko(Hewitt,NYC)  at 9′ 2.5″PR.  Perhaps  the   biggest  surprise  was  Middle School 8th Grader…Averie Klein of Pine Bush Middle…with her  10′ 2.5″ School Record and PR  for Coach Bob Sorensen.
