CONGRATULATIONS to our “12 Circus Acts” at this weekends …National Stage of Pole Vaulting Fun. It was exciting seeing all the wonderful interactions with other club athletes…. the sharing of ideas with the club coaches and the professional officials making it a special day for all competitors. The human performance levels and human spirit was at it’s best all weekend. This is the perfect design for athletes-in-sport. ……on-to-the- BBQ MEET!!!!!

GIRLS @ NATIONALS ~~~~
Warwick Valley,NY senior all purpose athlete…KAELI THOMPSON had a sensational double All-American events for Coach Mike Potter’s Purple Wave Track & Field machine. Just before the pole vault event…she raced to a personal best 26’1 on her second leg of her 3rd place Sprint Medley Relay …handing off the baton to her little sister on the fly. There 4:01.68 brought home her 4th All American medal… Then in the pole vault 12 minutes later… she flew 13′ 5″ for another 3rd place for her 5th All American status in her brilliant career at Warwick. She then took 2 great vaults at the NY State RECORD of 14′ 1.5″ held by Mary Saxer (2001).
Kaeli has 2 more shots at that record… Jr. U-20 Nationals and the Circus BBQ Meet on July 13!!!! Also making Emerging Elite All American was Paige Martin …coached by Russ VanSteeg at NFA.CT.. Paige placed 5th at a school and personal record 12′ 1″ ~~~~ Sprint/Hurdle sensation.. and double PA State Champion…Trina Barcarola of Western Wayne(Coached by Bob Amos) flew 12′ 1″ for 11th place in EE.
In the Freshman National Champs competition..it was another personal best day from powerful Sophie Maiecki of Washingtonville,NY. Coached by Stephanie Duffy and brother Nick Marecki… Sophie flew 10′ 6.5″ and was so close at 11′ 1″ on her 12′ x 140 UCS Spirit. Sophie is our clubs Most Improved Freshman this year!!! In the Tursday Middle School National Champion Section…a New Star was shining bright… as 7th Grader..Lily Ann Beattie of Warwick Valley Middle used her 13’1″ x 140 Essx Recoil to the max…with her 15th National place at 8′ 7″ for the Warwick Track Club Rising Star.

BOYS @ NATIONALS ~~~
5 CIRCUS BOYS ….. Leading the Boys group was Junior Conor Reilly(Union,NJ) and Liam Landau of Pascack Hills,NJ. Conor Reilly fought his way up …clearing 15′ 1.5″ in the Emerging Elite on Friday. This junior has produced big in his big meets this year. Liam Landau capped off his sensational career at Pascack Hills…which included tremendous Hurdling..long jumping …high jumping and pole vaulting.. His 15′ 1.5″ on Sunday was solid. He takes his talents to Northeastern University this fall. Washingtonville,NY junior…Nick Mirecki…coached by Stephanir Duffy flew 14′ 1.75″ by a ton on his 187 Essx and then moved up at 14′ 8″ to his longer sticks for close bars.. Sophomore star..Louis Martinez of Wallkill,NY went big also at 14′ 1.5″ and returns for two more years.. Nanuet,NY Senior–Chris Filatov finished a sensatonal career at 13′ 7.75 for Coach Larry Beckerly’s Golden Knights! CONGRATULATIONS ALL… YOU MAKE US PROUD.

For the 7th Straight Time… we would like to thank all parents for entering their children in our Summer Pole Vault Camps here at Flying Circus. It is a treat for us to help them this summer. Our 6 pits and excellent staff of coaches and college Champions will make if a strong learning experience . Each Camper is also invited to join in the Circus BBQ Vault Celebration on July 12 and 13th to end the Summer Season. Details on web site for the Registration Day-Of-Meet at site event.

June 7-NY STATE MEET ~~~~ It was a Gold Medal Sweep in the Girls and Boys Pole Vault on Friday at the Middletown High School facility under clear skies and warm breezes for the HV Flyin’ Circus Vault Team of 16 athletes. It’s hard to explain the true joy of taking part in the ultimate High School competition…. THE STATE FINALS. Our 16 athletes represented themselves..their schools and their families with unbelievable class and sportsmanship. This is the true reward of participating in athletics. CONGRATULATIONS to ALL FLYING CIRCUS athletes this year!!!!! We are most proud of you.

The Vault Fireworks began at 10AM …with the Boys State Final…featuring 10 Circus Flyers in the two division final…. Ravena,NY junior…SHANE RACEY captured his first State Federation crown with a personal best 16′ 0″ leap on his 15′ 7 Spirits for the up set win… This humble Penn Relays Champion then had 2 close bars at 5 Meters(16’4.75″) and takes his show to NB Nationals next week. Jordan Yamoah’s State Record (16′ 8.5″) is fast approaching Racey!!! Also taking a silver medal was Soph , Louis Martinez of Wallkill,NY at 14′ 6″… East Meadow,NY Junior,,,Brandan Love placed 3rd at 14′ 6″ and Washingtonville Junior..Nick Mirecki flew 14′ 0″ for 7th place in Division I. Nick Villanueva of Monroe-Woodbury (Junior) flew 14′ 0″ easily ..as did senior Tommy Qualter of Clarkstown South..14′ 0″ Chris Filatov of Nanuet hit 13′ 6″ Sam Haaland(Onteora) 12′ 6″ and Alex Robin (Shaker) 11′ 6″.

The Girls took over the pole vault runway at 4:45pm to start their journey of flight. Warwick Valley,NY ..senior…KAELI THOMPSON was on a focused mission and capyured her first STATE VAULT TITLKE with a BIG FLY OVER at 13′ 0″ for the gold. She then took 3 great bars at Mary Saxer’s Meet Record at 13′ 6″ on just her 13′ 7″ ESSX poles. Kaeli heads to NBNationals next Saturday. Placing 6th in Division II was one of our most improved vaulters this year at Flying Circus. Sophomore Jules Gravier of Bronxville,NY .. medaled at 10′ 0″ for retiring Coach Jim Mitchell. First year vaulter..Ellie Lemler of James O’Neill,NY flew 9′ 0″ for 7th place in Small school competition. Now— BRING on those SUMMER TUESDAY NIGHT MEETS !!!!!!

New Jersey Meet of Champions,North Burlington,NJ
Saturday June 8 ~~~~~ Four athletes scored Medals in the very competitive NJ Meet of Champions in North Burlington … Leading the Girls was Old Tappan junior star..Marisa DiGia…coached by Jeff Clark. Marisa placed 3rd overall with her 11′ 6 clear and heads to camps this summer. Coming thru BIG in her senior final meet…was Jamie Rossig of Pascack Hills. ..Coached by Ross Koelher. Jamie sailed 10′ 6′ for 6th place medal…. Hope Handlin (Union Catholic)..our speedy senior also flew 1-. 6″ and heads to Sacred Heart University next fall with Coach Tim Beach. Mue Carroll (Matawan) and Randi Conroy(No.Highlands) were solid all day.
The Boys were also strong… with Pascack Hills Cowboy…Senior..Liam Landau flying 15′ 0′ and heads to Greensboro next week. Conor Reilly of Union Catholic placed 5th at 15′ 0″ and the comback of Adam Stavash(Hasbrouck Heights) placed 10th at 14′ 0″. Shaun Herlihy of Old Tappan also sailed 13′ 6″ for Coach Clark Vault Crew!!!
