The fireworks started up Friday night at both the New Balance Armory and West Point ‘s Gillis Field House. The 24 athletes at the Armory were led by Warwick Valley,NY senior Kaeli Thompson (USA #2) and Northern Valley-Demarest,NJ senior Sydney Woods. (USA #4) . These elite training partners were ready to help each other soar…as Kaeli Thompson soared to a new meet record of 13′ 0″ on her biggest pole ever. This Duke University recruit used her eight step approach and had two close bars at 13′ 3.5″. Honor Student ..Sydney Woods, just finishing her MVP Volleyball State Championship season for NV-Demarest also flew to a New School and Bergen County All Time record with her 12′ 7″ leap. This UPENN recruit used her 8 Step and big poles for her near bar at 13′ 0″ !!!! Abington Heights,PA senior Dani Heine opened strong with a huge jump of 11′ 0″ for Coach Mike Ludka and placed third with a near miss at 11′ 7″. Our Boys saw outstanding performances from Tunkhannock Area,PA junior strongman..Dalton Yeust at 13′ 0″)School Indoor Record) and Aidan O’Connor of Lewis-Mills,Ct over 13′ 0″ to tie for third place in his first ever Armory experience.. West Point Development meet on Friday was coached by former Circus Star..Coach Stephanie Duffy of University of South Florida. Boys were led by Nick Villanaueva of Monroe Woodbury at 13′ 6″ coached By James Glover…Louis Martinez(Wallkill) 11′ 6″…Danny Jeong)MW) 11′ 0″ led the charge. The Girls winner was Sydney Tomaine(FDR) at 10′ 0″…Keira Coulard-Smith(NP) 9′ 6″ and Daniella raymond(Wash) 8′ 6″. Full results coming………

AT &T Coaches Hall of Fame @ Armory(Saturday)… Nanuet,NY senior…Chris Filatov came out of the cave with his Personal Best of 14′ 6″ for the silver medal for Coach Beckerle of the Goldern Knights. Liam Landau(Pascack Hills) flew 13′ 6″ for forth place…Ron O(Nanuet) 12′ 0″ Bryden Creogan(RV) 9’6″ Chris Dory(RV) 8′ 0″ *** The Girls were led by Jamie Rossig of Pascack Hills,NJ. This sprinter/vaulter leaped 10′ 6″ for CoachRoss Kohler and almost took the school record at 11′ 0″!!! Haley merchant(HH) 8′ 0″ . Taking the Larhe School title was Violet Drinkwater(Longwood,NY) at 11′ 0″ Angelisse Diaz(NFA) looked solid at 8′ 0″.
Section 1 Kich-Off @ Armory…. Clarkstown South,NY senior Tommy Qualter flipped over 14′ 0″ for the gold vault medal and team mate Steve Nostro hit 10′ 6″. Lauren Hancher(TZ) won gold at 8′ 6″ Grace Simpson(TZ) 7′ 6″ Rebecca Baez(NR) 7’0″ .
Essex County Invite @ Ocean Breeze….. Union Catholic won the Boys and Girls Pole Vault…as Hope Handlin(UC) soared 9′ 6″ and Isabella Gray(UC) made 9′ 0″ PR in girls… and Conor Reilly..the junior speedman..hit 14′ 0″ for the win..following his 14′ 6″ opening meet last week at Drew University.
Hillhouse,CT Invite…… The Martin sisters of Norwich Academy are soaring again this early season. Coached by Russ Vansteeg at Norwich…Paige Martin won gold with her 11′ 1″ sail and big-air at 11′ 6″/// Madison Martin added her 10’ 0″ vault for the Norwich scoring machine.
