The Hudson Valley Flying Circus Pole Vault Academy
Warwick Valley, NY
The Spring Pre Season Pole Vault phase is complete. The 5 week Re-Set for Flying Circus Pole Vaulters is in the books and we can now start to focus on solid vaulting from longer approach for the remaining month of April. Re-connecting the positions and posture is now in place and watch out world…here we come with performance. Thank you all for staying with the plan…. it will produce personal bests in the coming months.
The Warm conditions the past weekend opened up the door for some of our athletes on fiberglass….. perhaps the most striking multi-event performance came from senior Abby Norwillo of Pittston Area,PA.on Saturday at the Ice Breakers meet at Lake Wallenwalpack ,PA. The UPENN bound sprinter/vaulter/jumper led her team to the team title….with her 400Relay gold..her Long Jump Silver///Triple Jump Silver and her Meet Record pole vault at 12′ 8″ Gold. The six jump rule prevented her from taking some jumps at 13′ barrier. She was on her 170 pole for the first time since Nationals. She will be joining 7 other Flying Circus girls and 4 Circus Boys at the Penn Relays next Thursday at world famous Franklin Field stadium @ UPENN !!!!
Many other Circus Vaulters are producing massive points for their teams in other events this spring… adding to their overall fitness and athletic cross over skills. These other events makes BETTER POLE VAULTERS!!! Sprint development and take-off jump development are enhanced for the pole vaulter in the short relays..sprint group training…long jump/triplejump events and sand jumping drills during the week… it’s not all just pole vaulting every day. Ak your coaches to experiment with some cross event training for training variety and refreshment of weak area drills/skills. YOU WILL BECOME A BETTER POLE VAULTER !!!!
124th PENN RELAY CARNIVAL … The World’s “GREATEST TRACK & FIELD MEET”.

THE GREATER THE CHALLENGE ——
….THE MORE GLORIOUS THE TRIUMPH !!!!!
Self-confidence is the miracle worker for all ages….. it is that mighty invisible power that drives athletes to do the impossible performance. Your success or failure is determined by your faith or lack of faith in yourself. There are so many challenges waiting for you to accept: Be a positive thinker… a positive leader…. a positive force for your team. The ultimate challenge is to compete to your capacity..both PHYSICALLY and MENTALLY. MAKE your participation in athletics…PERSONAL.
“What lies behind you….
and what lies before you….
are tiny matters compared
to what lies within you.”
