         GREAT THINGS HAPPEN in the PENN RELAYS !!!!       
       CONGRATULATIONS to MEGAN CLARK(Duke University) for soaring to the gold on Thursday at the 120th PENN RELAY CARNIVAL in Franklin Field. This senior Duke Ambassador of Sport put on a real show in brutal rainy/windy and cold conditions on the newly surfaced Track complex in the Championship of America Pole Vault event. Coach Shawn Wilbourn moved her in to her 6 step approach on this bizarre day and she flew to the gold watch win at 13′ 9.5″ and called it a day. Team mate Madison Heath placed second at 13′ 5.5″ for the Blue Devil sweep. Megan …having step problems in her first 3 years at Penn…never gave up her faith and drive…and after 4 dedicated years of training … realized her moment. NEVER GIVE UP wins again!!!!!
      High School Girls Pole Vault Championship……

      Sophomore ALANA CARROLL(Averill Park,NY) led a strong charge of 8 Flying Circus girls in the loaded field ( A Flying Circus Record). Despite the constant rain downpour ..all our girls competed with big heats and strong minds. Our event is difficult enough…and with wind/cold and constant rain..it was survival day on fiberglass.. Alana Carroll placed second at 11′ 11.75″ for the silver medal… Circus Summer camper..Emily Harrison(Battlefield,VA) came thru with third at 11′ 5.75″…Michelle Rubinetti(Northern Valley-Demarest,NJ) was forth at 11′ 5.75″… Leah Saifi(Governor Livingston,NJ) tied for 5th place with sophomore Kristen Lubeski(Monroe-Woodbury,NY) at 10’11.75″. Kalli Manley(Burnt Hills,NY) Tedi DeMaria(Bethlehem,NY) Caitlin Reverand (Northern Valley-Demerast,NJ) and Jessica Ippolito(Fair Lawn,NJ) all completed tough all day. On to the next challenge!!!!!!
       In the College Pole Vault on Thursday morning…Catherine Walker(Villanova) cleared 11′ 11.75″ and Grace Weisbecker(Vermont) hit 11′ 5.75″. Today ..James Steck set another Outdoor PR with his 16′ 11.5″ at Radford University for Coach Bob Phillips!!!!

    It is one of the ‘Simple Truths’ in life…..Everyone wants to be a Pole Vaulter . Chasing the elusive crossbars…. flying down the runway with reckless abandon ….soaring thru the air like a cannonball…. Yes…It’s the ‘GLORY DAYS on FIBERGLASS’ that we all seek…. and every Sunday at Flying Circus is considered a “SUPER SUNDAY”. Today was one of those super days… with 45+ young athletes working together on our 5 Vault Pits in the meadow under strong sunshine… Boys and Girls from Elementary Schools..Middle School and High Schools in the Tri-State area… all working their craft…all giving up part of their Sunday..to pursue their dreams of flying. The improvements have been sensational… and quite frankly…UNBELIEVABLE !!!! Thanks to all our support parents and dedicated athletes…this Pole Vault Project has taken flight in many different areas ..Performance..Character Development …. and ..Friendships. CONGRATULATIONS – to – ALL !!!!!

    Jack Yockers Bergen County Relays … This 3 Day Extravaganza started on Wednesday and concluded on Saturday…with outstanding performances from many vaulters.. The Ridgewood Boys Vaulters won their title with Luc Bontoux(13’0″)-Ryan Vimba (12’0″) and Danny Schechter(11′ 6″) combining for the win…Sophomore Seth Kricheff from Old Tappan flew 13′ 6″ for the individual win..Jona Kim(OT) 11’0″ Greg Fuerte(Paramus) 11′ 0″ Matt Mazzacano(OT) 10′ 6″. The Ridgewood Girls vault team of Maxine Earl(10′ 6″) Nicole Lester(10′ 6″) and Kerry Callaghan(7’0″) won gold…as Sophomore Melissa Purcell of Pascack Valley flew a school record of 11′ 6″ for Coach Wilson. Jessica Ippolito(Fair Lawn) hit 11′ 0″ for silver Kaia Becker(North Highlands) 8′ 6′ Katherine Sandt(PV) 7′ 6″ Jackie Helm℗ 7′ 0″ and Madison Brooks(Fair Lawn) 6′ 0″.
    In Mahwah,NJ section … Big results came from Demarest and Mahwah High School vaulters…Jack Muller(Mahwah) soared 13′ 6″..Dante D’Agostaro(Mahwah) 13′ 0″ Joe Kim(Ridgefield Park) 13′ 6″ Noah Oliff-Leiberman(NV-D) 12′ 0″ Jason Mizhibovsky(NV-D) 11′ 0″…The NV-Demerast Girls set the Bergen County Relays record of 32 Feet..with Erin Yuder 9’6″-Caillin Reverend 11′ 0″ and Michelle Runinetti 11′ 6″ for Coach Ives.Mahwah tied their School Record Relay with Bridgett Muller 11′ 0″ Julia Entrup 9′ 6″ and Marissa Entrup 9′ 0″ for Coach Pasek. Sophomore Caroline McGann(HA) won at 10′ 6″ Sch Rec Ava Borelli(HA) hit 6’0″. Ramsey’s Grace Gardella won her section at 10′ 0″ and team mate Emma Bogaenko made 8’6″

    Blue Devil Classic at Westfield,NJ… Brian Rubenstein(Gov. Livingston) hit 13′ 6″ and Nick Deluca(GL) made 12′ 6″ for the 26 foot Relay win. Leah Saifi(Gov.Livingston) soared 12′ 1″ new school record..Stephanie Tack(HC) 9′ 6″0 Lauren Saifi(GL) 9′ 0″ and Dave Bausmith(HC) placed 3rd in the Fr-Soph) at 11′ 6″.

    Albany,NY..Tedi DeMaria(Bethlehem) soared 12′ 0″ and close at 12′ 6 bar.. Amelia Legg(Delhi) placed at the Doug Quinney Invite at 10′ 0″.. Greenwich,CT sophomore Lia Zavattaro soared to gold again at the New Cannan meet. In the Big Blue Invite on Staten island..Soph Charlie Crispi won at 13′ 6″ for Coach Cahill…and Liam Ackerman(St.Anthony) placed second at 13′ 2″ for Coach hendersen.

    Jessica Fingers Monticello Invite,NY…. The boys meet came down to the pole vault…. and Monrow-Woodbury came thru with the final 24 point sweep to win the TEAM TITLE for the Crusaders of Coach Glover/Hemmer. Vinnie DePaolo won at 13′ 0″ Josh Jeong hit 12′ 6″PR and Chris Endrizzi 12′ 3″PR with Coach Duffy assisting!!!

    The Mountie Madness Invite @ Suffern,NY was a twilight meet at McConnell Field..Kerry Qualter(CS) won at 8′ 9′ Devon Feuer(NR) 8′ 9′ Gabby Nebiker(MW) 8′ 6″ Seraya Freidman(MW) 8′ 0″ Hannah Solomon-Hollander(Suf) 7’6″ (7th grader!!) Rebecca Baez(NR) 6′ 0″…The Boys were lead by Daeseob Lim(TZ) at 12′ 9″ Aidan Miller(PR) 12′ 0″ Connor Burke(PR) 11′ 6″ Jack Chessman(PR) 9′ 0″ Chris Filator(Nan) 9′ 0″ Tom Qualter(CS) 9′ 0″

    the 90th Jack Roddick Shippensburg Invite,PA…. Hatsboro,PA junior Nick Marino was ready to plant the pole high..with his win at 15′ 6″PR at the Pre-State Meet site. Nick competes at penn relays on Saturday morning. The Girls section saw a coming out of the woodwork by Coughlin.PA junior speedster Madesyn Hawkins..as she placed 3rd overall with a New School Record of 11′ 9″ and a National Qualifer!!! Greensboro here she comes!! Team mate lexi Kowalski hit 8′ 9″ !!!

    College News.. Megan Clark(Duke) blasted over 15′ 2.25 ” in her final home meet at the Duke Invite and sets her school and ACC All Time Record for Coach Wilbourn. High School Prom date..Jordan Yamoah blasted 17′ 3.75″ at the LSU Twilight meet in Baton Rouge for silver medal… and Flying Circus BBQ Meet record holder Scott Houston blasted 18′ 6.5″ at Duke to officially qualify for the 2016 USA Olympic Trials!!!!
