The Hudson Valley Flying Circus Pole Vault Academy, LLC

     The Pre-Season has officially begun…and the 33 athletes attending the Circus 5 Step Meet each produced their own magic on 100 year old oak wood floor at the VAULT-BARN. Using the small approach run of just 5 lefts..the athletes demonstrated fine motor techniques without big speed. Taking the spotlight in the Girls morning session was James Coughlin High School(PA) senior sprinter/vaulter Madisyn Hawkins..soaring 12′ 0″ to match her long run personal best last year. Madisyn also had 2 good bars at 12′ 3″ on just her 12 foot UCS Spirits!!! Runner-Up Lia Zavattaro(Greenwich,CT) just a junior.used her 12′ x 130 to hit 11′ 0″PR School Record!!!! Top Freshman was Genevieve Reilly(Warwick,NY) at 8′ 0″!!

   In the afternoon Boys/Mens session… It was West Hill,(CT) senior strongman…Marc DeLuca delighting the crowd with his 14′ 0″ leap to edge Brian Rubenstein(Berkley Heights,NJ) also at 14′ 0″.. The Open Winner was Chris Rough(Stamford,CT) at 14′ 0″ and the Masters section was all Circus Coach .. Coach Ben Simonet(NYC) at 13′ 0″ . Special thanks to all parents and athletes for helping with the meet…Bob Sorensen…Beth Belcher…Denice Robbins…Dane Sorensen…Vinnie DePaolo…Jim Henderson….. Volunteers move the world again !!!!!!
