The Flying Circus Pole Vault Development Project at The Armory is thriving!!!! Thanks to the leadership of Dr.Norbert Sander at The Armory Foundation….. pole vaulting has taken center stage, with grass roots high school instructional phases in full swing. FLYING CIRCUS- SOUTH at The Armory has four dedicated and passionate teachers this indoor season… BEN SIMONET…DAN PLACENTRA…MICHELLE KERCADO and WILL NESBITT. This group of educators are making an impact on the 50+ High School Vaulters every week at The New Balance Track & Field Center “Hall-of-Fame”. CONGRATULATIONS ARMORY POLE VAULT COACHES !!!!!

NEW BALANCE NATIONALS….. 17 VAULTERS QUALIFIED…. and MORE-ON-THE-WAY!!!!
We are approaching our All Time Record of 21 Circus Vaulters at Nationals!!!! We have 8 more athletes who are on the edge of qualifying… Girls need 11′ 0″..Boys Need 14′ 3″ this indoor….Keep pushing your “spirit”……..

Results this week…. Jenna Calandro(Newtown,CT) leaped 12′ 0″ at the SWC Championships in New Haven and Jane Wall(wWeston) placed at 10′ 0″…Hannah Campos(Weston) 8′ 0′.. In Boys at SWC.. it was Will Crum(Weston) taking gold at 12′ 0″ and Nick DiBarthalomeo(Weston) taking silver at 11′ 6″ . At FCIAC Championships in New Haven… Junior Maddie Schneider(Darien,CT) flew 11′ 6″ and hit 4×200 Relay gold at 1:47.24 for the Blue Wave…Jessica Thornberry(Darien) placed 2 nd at 10′ 6″ Rachel Morklnek(Ridgefield) 10′ 6″ Leanne Steinowitz(Ridgefield) 8′ 0″!! In Boys Chris Rough(Westhill,CT) placed first at 14′ 0″ and great jumps at 14′ 7′ for Coach Perry. Leland Roberts(Danbury) 12’0″ Tommy Chessman(Greenwich) 11′ 6″.

Westchester County Championships …Taylor Davis(Byram Hills took gold at 8′ 9″ for Coach Julie Vilord… Devon Feuer(NR) 8’0″ Maeve McKinney(NR) 7’0″ Megan Maria(NR) 7′ 0″. Charles Wilson won his gols( for New Rochelle at 12′ 0″ Team mate reggie St.Louis placed 2nd at 12′ 0″ James Mariner(Somers) 11′ 6′ Mike Martello(Somers) 11′ 6″ Sammy Markowitz(Irvington) 10′ 0″

OCL Duals at West Point… Travis Fountain(MW) won at 14′ 0″ and great bars at 15′ 1″..Brandon Nebiuker(MW) 12′ 0″ Brandan Bogart(Kingston) 12′ 0″ Aidan Woolsey(Tri-Valley) 12′ 0″… Matt Karl(Kingston) 11′ 0″ Edwin Lopez(MW) 8′ 6″ In Girls action..Samantha Beyar(MW) 11′ 0″ Lexi Finn(MW) 9’0″ Kat Vanledje(Cornwall) 9′ 0″ Colleen Leahey(Burke) 7′ 0″

In New Jersey…. Pat Lynch(Cranford) flew easily over 13′ 0″ at Sectionals to advance to Groups….. In the CHSAA FROSH CHAMPIONSHIPS at Armory… St.Anthony’s Liam Ackerman(The Warehouse Vault) set a freshman PR with his 12′ 6′ leap for Coach Jim Henderson !!!!

Rockland County Champs… Clarkstown South senior Dana Rokicsak won her title at 9’0″ Alison Stern(CS) placed 3rd at 8′ 0″ for Coach Sussman. In Boys Aiden Miller(Pearl River) won gold at 12′ 0″ Matt Leanza(Suffern) 12′ 0″ Liam McGarry(Pearl River) 12′ 0″ Jake Diamond(Suffern) 11′ 0″ Pete O’Neill(CS) 10′ 6″ Mike Ganbarg(CS) 9′ 6″

Northern County Champs… Leah Wachsmuth(RC Ketchum) won at 11′ 0′ Alex Vincent(Arlington) 8’0″…. Boys Champion was Shawn Cherian(Arlington) 12′ 0″

College Scene…. Megan Clark goes BIG at JD FASTRACK… with 14′ 0″ New Duke Record… besting Olympian Julian Schwartz old school record!!! Megan used her 13′ 6″ series..check out Vertical Position at web site!!! Marissa Robbins hit 11′ 4′ for second place at Metro Champs for Coach Mecca.. Sarah Moore(Man) 10′ 4″ Madesson Weekes(Man 9′ 10”..Bre Brucher(Man) 9′ 10
