CONGRATULATIONS to ALL FLYING CIRCUS athletes at yesterday’s rain-soaking STATE OPEN TRACK & FIELD FINALS in Middletown,Connecticut yesterday !!!! It’s always pure sport when athletes from opposing teams…team mates and coaches cheer for each other in the heat of the battle at the STATE FINALS. This was the case yesterday in Middletown, Connecticut.

…..Competitors helping each other… catching each others step.. lending poles and sharing support….. this is the ..’Joy-of-Athletics’ that keeps it fun and memorable for years to come.

Maddie Schneider(Darien) and team mate Jessica Thornbury(Darien) produced big point in the pole vault to launch Coach Steve Norris’s BLUE WAVE Girls team to the TEAM TITLE 45 points over Staples 42!!! Pole Vault Points Win Team Title Again ….. Just like NY STATE MEET WARWICK VALLEY BOYS !!!!!!
Darien junior Maddie Schneider flew 12′ 0″ before the BIG DOWNPOUR for the 10 points and gold…Jenna Calandro(Newtown) was sensational over 11′ 6″ for silver and Jane Wall(Weston) was solid over 11′ 0″ for third place at STATE!!! Circus-Flyer..Rachel Moroknek(Ridgefield) 10′ 6″(5th place)… Ali Moraveck(Masuk) 10′ 0″(Top Soph)…Jessica Thornbury(Darien) 10′ 0″ …Laurel Bailey(Shelton) 10′ 0″ Chloe Brown(Glastonbury) 10′ 0″ !!!!
Schneider and Calandro will be taking it up at new balance Nationals this weekend… while Wall,Moroknek,Moraveck,Thornbury ,Bailey and Brown will hit the New England Championships!!!
