NEW JERSEY STATE FINALS….Michelle Rubinetti(NV-D) 12′ 0″ Seth Kricheff(NV-OT)… Lead-the-Charge !!!

It was a rainy start to the New Jersey State Track & Field Championships yesterday at the super facility at Central Regional High School…but the athletes were ready to compete. Gusty winds all day prevented all vaulters their consistent runs and plants….but it was another great day of fiberglass pole vaulting. Athletes competing hard…yet..helping and encouraging each other is a glorified sight to witness. Congratulations to all athletes…coaches and parents!!!!
The Girls section was loaded with 46 aspiring young athletes battling the conditions and moving up poles and grips …Northern Valley-Demarest junior Michelle Rubinetti…Group 2 Champion sailed 12′ 0″ on her second jump to claim the silver medal for the Lady Nordsman of Coach Mike Ives. Moving up to her biggest pole at 12′ 6″ was the right move with two close big air jumps. Placing 4th overall was TOP SOPH..Melissa Purcell of Pascack Valley..with her 11′ 6″ first attempt clear for pole vault coach Tim Wilson. Placing 5th was junior Jessica Ippolito of Fair Lawn High School Cutters…with he 11′ 6′ clear… Finishing off a brilliant High School All Event Career was Caitlin “Revy” Reverand. of NV – Demarest. Fighting a knee injury all season..this Group 2 Runner-Up blasted 11′ 0″ for 8th place for the Galaxy Gymnastic Champion. Caitlin heads to Lehigh University next fall for pole vault. One of our most improved vaulters at Circus was caroline McGann of the Academy of the Holy Angels of Demarest,NJ. Using her big plant and extended run.. this Non Public A Champion placed 9th at 11′ 0″ and very close at 11′ 6′ Junior Jackie Helm of Paramus was solid at 10′ 6″ and Maxine Earl(Ridgewood) went big over 10′ 6″ before she heads west to Pole Vault Camp. Coach Jacob Brown captured all the photos!!!!
The Boys section was just located 20 feet away…traveling in the opposite direction. The 20-25 MPH winds hurt all performances in both sections but the vaulters never complained. TOP NJ SOPH… Seth Kricheff of Northern Valley Old Tapan used his biggest ever pole to sail a personal best of 14′ 6″ to place 3rd overall for Coach Jeff Clark and Coach Alex Eckmayer !!!
