“VAULT~MANIA” MEET — Oct. 30

It was a rainy Halloween Eve …….. as 34 Pole Vaulters settled in the old dairy barn second floor hay loft for some good-old “FLYING FUN” at the 8th CIRCUS VAULT~MANIA Pole Vault meet. All the summer and fall pre-season work on drills and short run technique paid off early, as 14 pole vaulters set All-Time personal bests and the positive spirit prevailed again in the supportive team mates encouragement. This Indoor season will be filled with high performance. CONGRATULATIONS all Vaulters and Parents!!!!

Recap ~~ The 14 FLY-GIRLS put on a show in the afternoon section…. with Connecticut State Champion, Paige Martin of Norwich Free taking the prized “JOE TEA” Award with her 11′ 3″ leap from short run and close bars at 11′ 9″ in the High School division….. 8th Grade Multi-Event Champion…Lily Beattie(Warwick Valley,NY soared to a PR at 9′ 9″ and had two close bars at Karmen Auble’s NY State Class pole vault record of 10′ 3.25″. 7th Grader,Rachel Venter(Warwick Valley,NY) sailed 8’9″PR for the Purple Wave.
BIG PERFORMANCES filled the 20 Boys Evening Section… with Washingtonville,NY senior Soccer Captain…NICK MIRECKI …flying New School Indoor Record of 15′ 6″ for Coach Stephanie Duffy. This powerful Mirecki used his 15′ 1 x 185 ESSX from 7 lefts and never looked back. He was close at 15′ 9″ on all three. Top Freshman Honors went to Andrew Cimino(Warwick Valley,NY) with his 11′ 3″ PR for Coach Potters Indoor Wave.

In promoting our 7-8-9 Grade Pole Vault Development Program …… we are having a series of 3 “RISING STARS YOUTH POLE VAULT MEETS” this winter at FLYING CIRCUS. This is open to all Boys and Girls in Grades 7-8-9 ONLY and will provide a great setting for YOUTH POLE VAULTERS ONLY COMPETITIONS. Stay tuned for dates….
