Yesterday’s EAST COAST RELAYS at Randolph High School was all about the Pole Vault Event for both Girls and Boys!!!
CONGRATULATIONS to Northern Valley-Demarest Pole Vault athletes and Coach Mike Ives for smashing the All Time NJ State 3 Girls Pole Vault Relay Record with their 33′ 6″ combined total win.. breaking the old record of Hunterdon Central #@ 32.0″ from 2015!!! NV-D Coach Mike Ives had them focused and ready for a shot at history..with junior Michelle Rubinetti sailing 12′ 0″… Senior Caitlin Reverand hitting 11′ 6″ and junior Erin Yuder blasting over 10′ 0″ and into the history books !!! They now own both the Indoor and Outdoor State Relay Records!!!
The rain delayed night was not over yet..as Governor Livingston High School junior Leah Saifi cranked up a 7″ personal best and school record 12′ 8″ for the NJ #2 All Time best!!! State Record is 13′ 3″ by Danielle O’Reilly of Shawnee!!! .. and that is within sight!!! Using her 12′ 7″ grip and 13′ x 150 UCS Spirit pole… this Indigo Level 10 Gymnastic Star has found her event! Leah is coached by former Rider University Vault Champion..Anthony DeFranco..The Ninja Warrior!!!!
Boys East Coast… Brian Rubenstein(Governor Livingston) placed 2nd with a big 1`4′ 0″ sail..Peter Chen is back on the runways at 13′ 0″ for Delbarton.. Nick DeLuca(GL) 13′ 0″ Dominic Roca(Mahwah) 12′ 6″ Justin Walker(Mahwah) 12′ 0″ Henry Lockhart(NVD) 12′ 0″ Noah Oliff-Lieberman(NVD) 12′ 0″ Josh Mirabella(GL) 11′ 0″ . Relay win went to Governor Livingston at 38’0″ !!!

OCL Frosh Championships.. Jacob Beckler of Warwick Valley won the gold in Goshen at 9′ 6″ from just 6 step.. Gabby Nebike(Monroe) won the girls crown at 9′ 0″ Kaeli “Sparky” Thompson(Warwick flew 8′ 6″ and Genevieve “Sunshine” Reilly flew 8′ 6″ for the 8th grader after her 61.6 open 400 meter run!!!
