TODD UCKERMARK earned his STATE POLE VAULT CHAMPIONSHIP !!!! The likable and humble Warwick Valley High School senior has fought back hard and steady from his disappointment at last spring’s Outdoor State Meet at Middletown… with a FALL and WINTER training phase that was unmatched…. with over 1200 Short and Long Run Vaults under his belt …as he entered Barton Hall of Athletics on Saturday at Cornell University ready for the 4.5 hour vault competition. Using his “Purple Wave” speed he sizzled over 16′ 0″ with room to spare and had great bars at 16′ 6″ meet record… Team mate Derek DiBona also was ready for the BIG STAGE…with a FLY-OVER at 15′ 6″ for the silver medal for the BIG 18 TEAM POINTS… to help lead Coach Potter’s Wave to the 36 STATE TEAM POINTS Un-offical STATE TEAM TITLE!!!!
Joe Crispi (Farrell,NY) made the victory stand with his 14′ 3″ jump…followed by Zack Lieberman(JD) 13′ 6″ Mike Martello(Somers) 13′ 0″ and Aiden Miller(Pearl River) at 12′ 0″

” 3 Circus Girls Take the Stand” ….. Junior Samantha Beyar(MW) came thru for Coach Goodwin again..with her 3rd place 11′ 3″ vault and very close bar at 11′ 6′ on her Biggest Pole in the bag….Kara Snyder(Colonie) placed 4th at 11′ 0″…Kalli Manly(Burnt Hills) placed 5th as Top Soph in the meet…Leah Wachsmuth(RC Ketcham) 10′ 6″ Erin Leadey(Warwick) 10′ 0″ Carolan Frisina(Syosset) 9’0″ Matea Friedel(Rye) 9′ 0″ and Kat vanLedtje(Cornwall) 9’0″

New Jersey Meet of Champs….Toms River,NJ… Congratulations to Luke Annichiarico(Old Tappan) for his 15′ 0″ second place finish at NJ State Meet. Trevor Knowles (No Huterdon) set his PR at 15′ 0″ for 5th place…. Sam Siegel(NV-Demerast) also PR’ed at 14′ 0″ for 7th place…Andrew Ghizzone(Union Catholic) 14′ 0″ Spencer Llerandi(Ridgewood,NJ) 13′ 6″.
In The Girls NJ State Meet… Junior Katlyn Rymarzow(Pope John) placed 3rd at 11′ 0″ and Christina Masciate(PH) vaulted 10′ 0″!!!!

Virginia 6A STATE MEET……Rachael Fasana(Lake Braddock,VA) was outstanding again..with her 11′ 9″ vault to take 2nd place to Jackie Meeks…also at 11′ 9″ Maggie Rudd also scored at 10′ 3″ for Coach Mike Mangum’s Lady Bruins!!!!!

At todays Flying Circus Last Chance Meet…Congratulations to Cara Kelly(Vernon,NJ)…Jessica Thornberry(Darien,CT) and Kari Murnane(Lenepe Valley,NJ) for making NB Nationals Emerging Elite Pole Vault standard with their 11′ 1″ performances !!!! Cara and Kari set New Indoor School Records!!!

College Report…. “MEGAN CLARK HITS THE ROOF” ….. Congratulations to Duke University sophomore Megan Clark and Duke Pole Vault Coach Shawn Wilborn for another sensational pole vault SCHOOL RECORD of 14′ 5.25″ at the ACC INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS at VT this weekend. The Blue Devils on Fiberglass are soaring !!!!Megan took 22 jumps and broke her pole at 14′ 7.5″…but kept on ticking …with a very close jump on a new pole!!!!!
Sophomore Destiny DiStasio(Kutztown University) blasted over 11′ 2.5″ at conference and near bar at 11′ 9.5″ for the never-give-up speedster from Tunkhannock,PA!!!!!. Soccer star..Kayla Leahey(Rowan University) vaulted well again at the armory for Coach Ringo Addison !!
Open….Congratulations to Circus Pole Vault Coach Will Nesbitt…as her won the gold at the Armory USATF meet on Friday Night with his 12′ 4.25″ vault !!!! Will be in Boston on March 15 for USA Masters Championships !!!!
