CONGRATULATIONS TO UCS SPIRIT….MR. STEVE CHAPPELL AND STAFF for delivering another SENSATIONAL National Pole Vault Summit this past weekend in the Wild West Valley of Reno, Nevada. They came to exchange ideas…to inspire and to move our event up a few more steps on the ladder …. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED !!!!!

FLYING CIRCUS would like to THANK all parents….coaches and especially our athletes who made this trip a GREAT EXPERIENCE for all of us…. ON TO THE NEXT CHALLENGES !!!!!

Reno, NV….. Warwick Valley,NY senior Todd Uckermark was ready for Runway #1…with a big clear at 16′ 2″ and then had great jumps at the 16′ 8 bar on all three…His 16′ 2 performance sets a Flying Circus Summit all time record!!! Also jumping super was junior Derek DiBona(Warwick Valley,NY) with a NEW YORK STATE JUNIOR CLASS RECORD of 15′ 10″ on his 15’1″ x 190 pole …. Both Purple Wave athletes will now move up to the 15′ 7″ UCS Spirit series!!!! Both are entered in Saturdays New Balance Invitational at Armory.

The Five Circus Girls were also ready for the Saturday meet…following the Friday clinic and working with the National Pole Vault Staff. Darien.CT. junior Maddie “Multi” Schneider used her biggest pole of the year and it still was not enough glass as she brushed off 11′ 11″ on Runway # 4 to place 3rd in her Pit competition and 15th overall at the her first summit. She will now move up to 13′ 7″ UCS Series… Sophomore Kalli “BlackBelt” Manly )Burnt Hills,NY) flew 10′ 9″ and was super at 11′ 4″… Kari “Splash” Murnane(Lenape Valley,NJ) enjoyed her second trip to summit and had 10′ 9″ on all jumps.. Erin “Super-Kicks” Leahey(Warwick Valley,NY) cleared 10′ 3 Huge and moved up poles at 10′ 9″ and Cara “Snow-Board” Kelly..just a junior from Vernon Township.NJ set an indoor school record at 10′ 3″ and jumped on her 150 UCS spirit for the very first time.

Our very own… Flying Circus Coach Will “Flying-Blue Devil” Nesbitt(NYC.NY) was the talk on runway #8.. as he jumped big over 12′ 2″ by 2 feet… then pole softness at 12′ 9″ took over. Will sets a Flying Circus Coaches record for Summit…Let’s Go Ben and St !!!!!!

…The Boys at Yale were lead by Chris Rough(Westhill,CT) at 14′ 0″ for Coach Neal Perry…Spencer Llerandi(Ridgewood,NJ) hit 13′ 6″ again for 5th place..Leland Roberts(Danbury,CT) 13′ 6″ Mike Martello(Somers,NY) 12′ 6″ James Mariner(Somers,NY) 12′ 0″
..West Point Multi-Meet…Senior Travis Fountain(Monroe,NY) flew 14′ 1″ with NO Spikes…Matt DeLoranzo(Wallkill,NY) lifetd 11′ 6″… In girls Samantha Beyar(Monroe,NY) took gold at 11′ 3″ PR…Colleen Leahey(Burke,NY) set a school record of 8′ 6″ for the Eagles.
..Suffern Invite at RCC…. Senior Leak Wachsmuth(RC Ketchum,NY) set a school record of 11′ 3″..followed by Samantha Beyar at 11′ 0″ Dana Rokicsak(Clarkstown South,NY) 9’6″ and Lexi Finn(Monroe,NY) at 8′ 9″ for Coach Goodwin. In Boys action..Matt Leanza(Suffern,NY) placed first at 11′ 0″ Jake Diamond(Suffern) 10′ 6″ Mike Ganbarg(CS) 9′ 6″”

New Jersey results at Toms River State Relay Championships….. Luke Annichiarrico(Old Tappan,NJ) set a new Bergen County Record of 15′ 1″ to lead his team . Marc Campo hit 11′ 6″ as friendly rivals Nv-Demerast,NJ..saw Sam Siegel hit 13′ 6″ and Brett Croen hit 12′ 6″ this week to set up the fireworks for outdoor track !!!

… The Pope John ,NJ Girls did it again this year at STATE…. Katlyn Rymarzow(junior0 flew 11′ 6″ on small poles for a meet record…and brushed off 12′ 1″ and teamed up with speedy Nicole Sarno for the State Championship Pole Vault Relay win for Coach Brian Corcoran. They also won the State Relay Team title with 66 points!!!! Both will compete on Saturday at New Balance Games at Armory.

Megan “Flips” Clark…opened up hugh at VT meet with her 13′ 3.5″ clear for Coach Wilbourn of Duke. Megan placed 4th and now hits 2 meets this coming weekend for that 4.25m jump… National Champion Emily “Boomer-Sooner” Savage … took her winning ways to her first college meet and brought home the win on her small step and small grip in Norman.OK.. She returns to the Armory for a Feb 5 Collegiate Extravanga!!! Let’s GO WATCH BOOMER !!!
… James Steck(VT Freshman) sailed 15′ 5″ for Coach Phillips…Peter Fagan went 15′ 9″ at Cornell…Justin Farrenhopf(Manhattan) went 15′ 1″ this weekend..Marisa Robims (Manhattan) 10″10 Breanna Brucher(Manhattan) flew 10’10” Madison Weeks…10′ Sarah Moore 10′ 4″ for the Jaspers…. Another University Record for Dana Placentra at NYU with her 10′ 4 vault in Armory !!!!

Congratulations to Kara Lynn Snyder of Colonie,NY (12′ 1″ PR) for being invited to the 107th Millrose Games Girls HS Vault. * girls are in from 7 different states.. ONLY 2 spots left. Final invites by Feb. 1. All final enteries posted at armory track.com on Feb. 1.
